In the historic neighborhood of San Niccolò in Florence, on the left bank of Arno river, one of our major restoration projects has given life to an elegant and lively home.
The desire of the owners was clear: lots of space, lots of light, and all the comforts to accommodate a family made up of adults, children and teenagers.
The renovation project started off by the development of the layout, i.e. the study of spaces and functions. The challenge was to bring together the 350 square meters that originally were divided between a former carpentry abandoned on the ground floor, and a stately apartment on the first floor.
The original architectural structure was very characteristic yet challenging: as a transformed house it was crucial to have joinery elements, able to divide or expand the space.
Hence the enormous portals between the cross vaults of the kitchen and TV room, and again the mirrored and molded wall that separates the office from the kitchen, and finally the scenographic staircase that connects the ground floor to the first floor.
After the architectural work, the project went on with an important interior design work that took care of every detail: the choice of colors, materials and finishes, the design of custom-made furniture, the selection of fabrics, the lighting project, selection of accessories and accessories, up to consulting for the purchase of artworks.
The result of the work is a sophisticated noble residence but with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere moved by natural light and the lively use of colors.
